﴾ Those are Allah's signs; We recite them to you in truth. Allah does not desire any injustice for the worlds. ﴿
The distant feminine demonstrative refers to the signs that have run through the composition, gathers them, and sets them before the eye as though they stood present. It then predicates of them that they are Allah's signs, so that their belonging to their source is established before anything is said about the movement of their arrival. The nominal sentence holds that belonging fixed, while the demonstrative gathers what preceded concerning the faces, the mercy and the punishment under the name of Allah, to whom the signs belong.
The composition turns to the majestic first-person plural in "We recite them," and the object pronoun refers to the signs. In t-l-w, a fine encounter is followed by another that joins it, so that the signs carry one another in a successive arrival. The present tense keeps the movement in progress, and "to you" identifies the recipient present in the address; in this way the distant pointing passes, through recitation, into an encounter that is heard.
The particle attaches to the verb and fixes the manner of the recitation, or the condition that accompanies it: in truth. Truth, from ḥ-q-q, narrows and contains within, then knots a joining in the depth, while the repeated consonant thickens that fixity and draws it tight. The signs therefore arrive in a settled measure that binds what is uttered to its source, not in a movement that slips free. The definite article in "truth" makes it a criterion standing within the phrase itself, not a clause resting on a proof borrowed from outside.
The conjunction joins a nominal sentence that places the name of Allah first, and the negative particle enters upon His desiring of injustice. Desire, from r-w-d, is an unbroken flow that stretches on and then presses out penetrating toward an aim. The root ẓ-l-m here denotes a covering that veils what is due and closes over it, and the indefinite "injustice" under negation encompasses the whole of its kind. The preposition extends this denial to the worlds altogether, placing the preceding mercy and punishment within the truth of the recitation.
"Those" gathers the preceding signs and refers them to Allah, then sets them in motion through a connected recitation toward the addressee in the state of settled truth. After the source, the arrival and the criterion have been established, the last sentence denies that Allah desires any injustice for the worlds. The opposition between mercy and punishment therefore remains within the truth of the recitation, and the denial excludes any entry of injustice into the divine desire without needing a justification from outside the verse.
