﴾ then he will call out for undoing (thubūr), ﴿
The word that opened the answer on the first side is repeated: "then he will be reckoned with a reckoning made smooth." A fa and a sawfa there, a fa and a sawfa here. The postponement is one and the same for both outcomes.
What has turned over is the build of the verb after it. There, "he will be reckoned" has its agent unnamed, so the event falls upon him. Here, "he will call" is built for its doer, so the event issues from him. The first thing attributed to this party is an act that comes out of him.
The root d-ʿ-w is something held and steady that appears out of the depth and is then joined to the one it is aimed at. A call is a voice that comes out of the inside and stretches toward a party from whom an answer is sought. There is no shouting into emptiness in the root; there is a stretching toward someone who hears.
And the verse states the act without stating the one called. The voice stretched out and the party it reaches is not named, and no answering and no reply are mentioned. A call complete in its form and missing its other end.
Thubūran is indefinite in the accusative, and it is what is called for, not the one called upon. A human call usually asks for what will hold him up. This one asks for what will scatter him.
And th-b-r is a fine scattering that opens and comes out, then runs on and is not caught again. From it comes thabara, to destroy by dispersing. What the call asks for is a coming apart after which nothing is gathered again. One voice out of the inside, asking that the inside itself be scattered.
And leaving it indefinite leaves it with no edge to stop it. It was not said "the undoing", so as to be known by its limit, and it was given no describing word to measure it. A dispersal with its far end left open.
"Then he will" is the very word of the first side, so the delay does not differ. What differs is the build of the verb: there an event that falls upon him, here an event that issues from him. And d-ʿ-w is a voice that comes out of the inside and stretches, joined to a party it asks of, while the verse states the stretching and does not state the party. Then "undoing", an indefinite object, and th-b-r a fine dispersal that comes out and runs on and is never gathered. Three words holding a postponement, a call, and a thing asked for, and holding neither a hearer nor an answer. The first thing this party owns is a voice, and the first thing he asks with it is to come apart.
A call is built to reach someone. This one is given its full shape and left without the other end, and what it asks for is the scattering of the very inside it came out of.
