﴾ Her Rabb (the Nurturing Sustainer) accepted her with beautiful acceptance, caused her to grow with beautiful growth, and entrusted her to Zechariah. Whenever Zechariah entered upon her in the sanctuary, he found provision with her. He said: Mary, from where is this yours? She said: it is from with Allah. Allah provides for whom He wills without reckoning. ﴿
The request meets its answer, and the connective ties "accept from me" to its response: "her Rabb accepted her." Acceptance, from q-b-l, is a decisiveness that fastens onto what is received and then reaches out toward it. Repeating the verb and its verbal noun makes acceptance an encompassing fact rather than a single act, and only then is it described as beautiful.
Acceptance extends as care. Growing, from n-b-t, is what springs from within and comes out of it while that within keeps a fine, weak hold on it. Repeating the verb and its verbal noun makes the growth a scene that follows upon itself rather than a single shoot. Guardianship, in the doubled form, is a charge of watching that is sustained and repeated, and it makes Zechariah a channel of care within the Rabb's own acceptance.
The presence recurs: "whenever" binds every entering to the finding of provision. "Provision" comes as an indefinite noun tied to "with her," so the weight settles on the place of the finding and on the recurrence of the entering itself. When Zechariah asks after the route with "from where is this yours?", Mary answers with the source: "it is from with Allah."
The event becomes a rule. Provision, from r-z-q, is a flowing that drives forward and whose arrival at the one who benefits is then made firm. The close lifts the answer from the single event into a rule: the will chooses, the provision arrives, and no reckoning from outside imposes its measure upon it.
Beauty crosses from acceptance into growth. "Beautiful" recurs in acceptance and growth, joining what the gift met with the Rabb to what it became through time. Acceptance is not a moment of permission ending at the threshold; it opens growth, establishes guardianship, and discloses provision. The beauty of reception becomes an environment in which the one received takes form, while beautiful growth becomes a visible trace of care that preceded and accompanies it.
Within the recurrence of "whenever," the first entry does not exhaust the meaning of provision; each meeting returns the question to its spring. Mary answers neither with the kind of what was found nor with how it arrived, but moves attention from the thing to "with Allah." "Without reckoning" then opens the spring beyond the measures of guardian and place, and human care does not possess the limit of what comes from the Rabb. The guardian enters and finds; the spring precedes his entry and keeps the gift larger than his encompassing.
Beautiful acceptance does not halt at the threshold; it becomes growth, guardianship, and supply. The scene of entering and of provision recurs until it opens the question of the route, and the answer returns to "from with Allah." What the Rabb accepted, He caused to grow, and kept, and supplied.
